Kate was working in sports marketing and was feeling pretty bad about leaving her two dogs home alone. She always wanted to start her own business and she took the advice of many successful entrepreneurs who said - do something you love to do. So with an education in art history, background in fine arts and design, experience in marketing and love for dogs. Tartan Hound was born.

Since then, Tartan Hound has grown to be a recognizable brand in the pet world and is carried in several hundred stores that cover the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia. With an expanding product line, we expect to double our sales within the next year and branch out into accessories for both the stylish dog and their owners.

In 2005, Kate Ross - NY was established to compliment the fun preppy styling of Tartan Hound. It is through that label that new accessories will be developed for the dog owner. We’re very excited about the future of Tartan Hound and hope you enjoy our products and design.
